To ensure that our shotgun range remains safe, please be aware of these safety
rules.
Safety is priority!
Alcoholic
beverages and or drugs may not be consumed prior to, or during shooting on
the shotgun ranges. Shooters who are suspected to be under the influence
alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to shoot and may be asked to leave the
property. For the purposes of this rule, “drugs” shall mean any illegal drug
or prescription medication, if that prescription medication affects the
judgment or safe conduct of the shooter.
Contact the FLSC Club Manager or a FLSC Board member at 651-464-9931 if you
observe unsafe range conditions that you cannot correct.
Practice muzzle control at all times and be aware of the presence of others
when handling your gun.
Keep all guns unloaded with actions open from the time they are uncased
until it is your turn to fire on the line.
Shooters may not use shotshells loaded with a velocity greater than 1290 FPS
with a maximum shot charge of 1 1/8 ounces, or 1325 FPS with a maximum shot
charge of 1 ounce, or 1350 FPS with a maximum shot charge of 7/8 ounces, as
measured in any individual shotshell. No load with more than 1 1/8 ounces of
shot or shot sizes larger than 7 ˝ can be used.
Only guns chambered for 12 gauge or smaller may be used.
Shooters, scorers, and trap personnel must wear appropriate eye and hearing
protection while on the ranges.
The hunting and shooting of animals is not allowed on club property.
Violators will be reported to the legal authorities and club members may
have to forfeit their membership without a refund.
Empty hulls ejected on the ground become the property of FLSC. Do not pick
up hulls during league or registered events. During shooting events closed
to the public, empty hulls must be picked up, along with garbage, litter,
cigarette butts, empty shell boxes, candy wrappers, earplug containers,
beverage cans, etc. These items must be disposed of in the containers
provided.
While in the shelter areas, be considerate of shooters on the shooting line
by keeping noise to a minimum level. Practice good sportsmanship and use
common sense.
Treat the club property with respect. Theft and vandalism will be
prosecuted.
When driving in the parking lot, maintain a speed limit of 5 MPH and be
aware of dogs, children and others on foot. Parking is allowed in the
authorized parking area only. No vehicles are allowed on the ranges without
written permission from the Board of Directors or the Club Manager.
Always close and lock gate after entering and exiting the range unless a
public shooting event or work party is being held.
Pets must be tied, leashed, or placed in a vehicle at all times while on
club property. Dogs must be controlled to prevent barking and the owner must
clean-up after their pet.
Smoking is not allowed in the clubhouse.
Glass containers and open campfires are allowed on club property.
Shooting after posted shotgun range hours is prohibited. Posted shooting
hours are from 9:00 a.m. to dusk.
Electric throwers are used only during regular league or registered
shooting. Members may use their own throwers during posted shooting hours,
which are from 9:00 a.m. to dusk when there is no public shooting. Position
hand throwers off the edge of the six trap fields to eliminate damage to the
lawn.
FLSC members must carry their shareholder card while on the shooting range to
verify club membership.
Members may not share the gate codes with non-members. Violating this rule
will lead to the forfeiture of club membership without refund.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Please note: FLSC holds a variety of organized shooting events throughout
the year. During these events, the shotgun range is open only to those
participating in the event.
